What makes luxury bathtubs “Luxury”?

Common Assumptions about Luxury:
You may have many common assumptions about luxury related to price. It is often thought that the more something costs, the better it will be.Right?
While in some cases this is true, with a bathtub, many components make bathtime a luxury experience. Cost is a small part of creating that experience.
Your perception of luxury also varies from your neighbour’s, depending on what you define as a luxury bathtub.
Common factors thought of as luxury include:
- Size. (The bigger the better)
- Water massaging jets.
- LED mood lighting.
- Hidden waste drains.
- Well insulated to stay hot.
- Elegant simple controls.
- Fast Flow taps to fill quickly.
- High quality materials like stone.
- Sunken installations into the floor.
- Colour plated solid brass fittings.
When choosing the fittings for your bathtub, it’s worth noting that brass is a popular quality material, but not all brass is created equal. Brass is a manufactured metal, so better quality fixtures have a much better purity.
Bath tub Installation
Regardless of the materials used, luxury bath tubs could be defined initially by how they are installed.
However, a well-installed bathtub, properly fitted and sealed to the correct British standards, will provide the experience accustomed to luxury. Because bathtubs that don’t squeak or creak when in-use should be normal, but sadly, this isn’t due to poor handyman or DIY-style installations.
A well installed tub should have proper support structures or fittings underneath them as part of the installation.
Bathtub Materials:
Luxury bath tubs would also normally be made of higher/varying quality acrylics, steel (rarely), which make less creaking and movement when in-use.

Bathtub Functionality:
Luxury bath tubs have varying degrees of functionality compared to common fixtures.
Bath taps might typically be made from more refined materials such as brass, brushed steel, or aluminium. They sometimes have accented features and much smoother movements due to better-quality components and seals.
Another feature considered a luxury in bathtubs is their size. Luxury tubs are often much bigger, allowing for two or more people to share the experience.
Bigger bathtubs might often have jacuzzi-style water jets, defined as baths with jets.
LED lighting is also a common feature of luxury tubs. It is often controlled from a smartphone app or a portable battery-free switch on the wall, such as Philips Hue.
